PGL and The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business

Precision Gradall Ltd. (PGL) is a proud member of The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). CCAB is a non-partisan and member-based organization which receives no core government funding. PGL became a member of The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business in 2018. However, the Owner, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager were all born and raised in Alberta and have been involved with the company since its inception in 1990. We pride ourselves with having always been 100% Aboriginal-owned and operated.

As the petroleum industry becomes more cognizant of our country’s historical roots, the need for equal hiring practices for not only Aboriginals but all minority groups of people has become paramount for a building a fair and just society. Precision Gradall Ltd. has taken steps to ensure we do not fall behind in promoting this positive ideological change, and our company considers all persons on even terms, regardless of their sexual orientation or personal beliefs. As a member of The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, we pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity business, and hire qualified applicants from indigenous and minority groups, the LGBTQ community, and all religious sects.

Precision Gradall Ltd. ensures our employee pool has a constant Aboriginal presence and strives to create opportunities for all Albertans, especially those of Aboriginal heritage. This initiative ensures we are progressing towards sustainable and equitable relationships with all of Alberta’s diverse ethnicities, sexual orientations, and religious beliefs. As a member of The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, we demonstrate our intention to be a trusted business among communities across Western Canada, and a company committed to prosperity in Aboriginal communities.

The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business programs are developed with tools and strategies to achieve desired and measurable outcomes. Our skillset has taken us all over Western Canada, with projects not only in Alberta but also British Columbia and Saskatchewan. We specialize in pipeline maintenance, facility integrity, environmental reclamation, and ROW remediation, spill contamination/containment, slope failures and erosion control. Our equipment comes in a variety of track and rubber-tire sizes and has a variety of attachments, buckets and extensions. This also includes the special tunnelling bucket that ensures safe excavations near live pipelines. PGL also has tridem and single axle hydro-vac units that specialize in non-mechanical excavations, along with tandem dump trucks, skid steers and loaders to assist with pipeline projects.

We pride ourselves in having trained and experienced field employees to complete all tasks diligently. This is possible because our foremen were all originally hired as labourers and gained experience within the company before being promoted to leadership positions. We have a certified NCSO, and our project managers have over 20 years of experience in the construction and petroleum industries. We try to keep our employee turnover rates low, meaning we train personnel for multiple positions in order to fill vacancies from within the company. We are COR certified, and a proud member of ISNetworld, Complyworks, Avetta, the Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association (ARHCA), and the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA).

In November of 2018, Precision Gradall Ltd. was the recipient of the ARHCA’s 2017 “No Lost Time 10,001 to 50,000 Hours” award for the second time, having first received the award in 2015. As The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business’s proud member, PGL strives to improve the Aboriginal image by providing services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
